Can the Postal Service see what's in your mail?

Can they?

For example: You put a ring in a padded envelope along with maybe a letter and send it as a normal postal mail. Without you telling them can they see/know the ring's in the envelope? Does letters go through certain process ?

Wasn't sure what to put this under... i.e letter going overseasCan the Postal Service see what's in your mail?
Yeah, they can. That's why you're not really supposed to mail cash and such. It can get stolen.

I mean, it just depends on the package. They don't go poking through mail, but if there's an obvious lump they could figure out it's a ring. Can the Postal Service see what's in your mail?
if your sending some weed... than dig a whole in a jar of peanut butter... put the baggied weed inside the whole.. cover up with more peanut butter and send away.
