What do you think? Is it safe to mail a key via the Postal Service?

If so, how is the best way to send it? A manila padded envelope, a plain white envelope? Advice please! What do you think? Is it safe to mail a key via the Postal Service?
mistakenly take their room keys with them, and attempt to return them to us via a regular envelope. They all arrived torn or damaged, with the key missing. The key won鈥檛 allow the envelope to pass smoothly through the USPS鈥檚 equipment, usually tearing or otherwise damaging the paper and allowing the key to fall out. The small, padded envelopes are perfect for returning keys. What do you think? Is it safe to mail a key via the Postal Service?
My father use to work in the Post Office, in the dead letter office. He would come home with many stories of things that people would end in a white envelope, money, key's etc. A high percentage of then would end up in the dead letter office. The sorting machines would tear up the envelope what ever was inside and any identification that was in the envelope was destroyed. Be smart buy a Brown Padded envelope, cost about fifty cents, put the key in it and then send it.What do you think? Is it safe to mail a key via the Postal Service?
