I sold a gift card on ebay this evening. After going to the "print receipt/shipping label" it calculated the envelope to be delivered at $4.75(this was the cheapest) which seems quite expensive to me. Can i not just throw the Gift card in an envelope and send it out to the buyers address for a couple of 40 cent stamps or is this some kind of policy ebay has to make more money?Do i have to use the postal service to mail something i sold on EBAY?
Ebay doesn't have have this policy and Ebay doesn't make any money of USPS postage. You can just put in a mail (with a stamped envelope). The only problem is if you send it this way and the letter gets lost in mail or the recipient says that he never received it- it will be your responsibility to provide a full refund to the buyer (not just postage). It's Ebay's policy that the seller must provide a proof such as a tracking number for the shipment.
FYI: Ebay is almost always on a side of buyer (not a seller), so does Paypal, in case of buyer's disputeDo i have to use the postal service to mail something i sold on EBAY?
Hi,
That price is for priority mail, 1st class labels are available from stamps.com. If it's a rare occasion then go to p/office %26amp; mail 1st class with del/confirmation.
