How do you send a book by postal mail (United States Postal Service)?

i want to send a book by mail but i don't know what kind of envelope i'm required to buy? Also is it cheap? How do you send a book by postal mail (United States Postal Service)?
The enveleope only needs to be bigger than the book. No special envelope is required. Book rate (now called media mail) ranges from 2.38 to 5.50 depending on destination.

You don't necessarily need an envelope. I typically send my books sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard (cut slightly larger than the book) and then wrapped in thick paper (a brown paper bag with no markings works very well). As long as you do not include any correspondence in the package (no notes, no invoice, no sticky notes) you can request to send the book by media mail. This is the cheapest way to send media (books, DVDs, CDs). The post office has the right to inspect your package and will return it without reimbursement if they find correspondence in the package. So, follow the rules and save a bit of money in the process.

go to your local post office and ask them what is the charge for sending your book. what will you need an envelope for. you need a package. you can buy a package from the post office. the might except one from elsewhere if it meets their requirements. the cost depends on the distance and the S%26amp;H. it'll be cheaper if you have discounts.
Use the USPS "Media Mail" classification. It is the cheapest way of postage for books and printed material.

You simply have to wrap the book in brown or white paper securely, and print the address and return address very legibly. How do you send a book by postal mail (United States Postal Service)?
Go to the post office. They'll tell you how much postage you need. Make sure the book is wrapped up in something like a christmas present. No more than a dollar I'd guess.
Depends on the size of the book, weight of the book, and how fast you want to to get there.
