i want to use a weighing scale to weigh postal envelopes and packages so i can print the labels online, but hubby says no because in case of a raid police will think im dabbling in drugs when im not, he told me that it should ALWAYS be in the kitchen!

So why would the police indiscriminately raid your home if you're not selling drugs? If you're not guilty of something why would you have anything to hide? It simply doesn't matter.
