Ebay seller claims not recieved postal order?

i bought a bag off ebay,

sent seller postal order for 250 made out in his name

he asked me to send it to a company address which i checked on the internet and it seems a big company

he is the owner or managing director

on royal mail it says envelope with postal order was recieved and signed for

seller then said no not recieved it at home could it be at post office

i was like no wtf why would it be

now he is not responding

what should i do

You should have a reciept with a number on it i think you should be able to check if its been cashed or not, if it hasnt then cancel it imedietly!!
You should have a receipt for the amount of the postal order and the number of the postal order,



you should have sent it special delivery as recorded only covers you up to 39 pounds the cashier should have told you that, i hope you just didnt go for the cheap option.



If you sent it to a business you should have got it crossed ifso thy can only pay it into their bank account and tht can easily be checked



if it was signed for, you can provide proof (a photocopy) of your receipt and the fact that it was signed for can be confirmed by royal mail to the guy

From what I remember of postal orders they have a stub that the seller keeps, this has details of the PO number and you write on it the name of the person you made the PO out to. If you have this stub you can take it to a Post Office who gan give you proof if the PO has been cashed or not.#



If the PO hasn't been cashed you may be able to obtain a replacement, if it has been cashed you can contact Pay Pal/Ebay and get a refund/ the goods you ordered.
best to try to get hold of the manager by phone and speak to politely in person. it may not be either of your fault and is your best chance to sort it out rather than emailing each other..........

Perhaps you could call the postal order helpline on 08457 22 33 44 to see if the order has been cashed by the seller. If so then complain to ebay and the seller again.
